Before making your final purchase decision, check out this honest TaylorMade AeroBurner Black Driver review to know the truth behind its hype!

TaylorMade is the most popular golf brand known for its excellent and high-performing equipment. The AeroBurner driver from the same company is no different. It has received an enormous fan following since the time it launched.

The best thing about TaylorMade is that they introduce new efficiencies and improvements over their previous product models.

If you remember JetSpeed, AeroBurner is said to be more forgiving and more efficient than it. It is known for providing a fantastic experience to golfers.

In this review, I’ll be talking about everything from the features of the TaylorMade AeroBurner driver to its performance, pros, and cons. Then, at the end of this post, you’ll be able to decide whether or not to invest in it. So, keep reading till the end!

The first thing you’d want to know about this driver is its user reviews. Note that the product has received mostly positive reviews with a four out of 5-star rating on Amazon.

The reviews say it’s a forgiving, solid driver that works well for repeatedly striking straight.

Further, it looks great, and some users also claim that it is very lightweight, while some disagree. Not to forget about the negative reviews, AeroBurner mainly dislikes its lack of adjustability; otherwise, everything seems fine.

Anyway, I’ll cover all these aspects later in this review.

TaylorMade AeroBurner Driver – Features

Aerodynamic Shape

First and foremost, the AeroBurner golf driver features an aerodynamic shape that includes a rounded toe, a slightly raised crown at the front, a hosel fin (flap beside hosel).

This design mainly aims at reducing drag and increasing the speed of the clubhead during the swing.

Open Channel Speed Pocket

The AeroBurner golf driver also sports an open channel speed pocket specially designed to minimize the spin and maximize the sweet spot by consequently increasing the speed of the ball across the entire face.

Although the speed pocket technology is standard in almost all the latest TaylorMade drivers, this one is a bit different and unique. The advantage is, you’ll be able to realize or feel the ball speed from the ultra-flexible clubface of the driver.

Stock Information

In general, the AeroBurner driver is available in four different configurations, including 15 degrees, 12 degrees, 10 degrees, and 9.5 degrees as the base variant. Further, the stock graphite grip and shaft are by Matrix Speed Rul-z 50 and ™ speed. Here are also four variants: Regular, Stiff, Senior, and X-stiff.

TaylorMade AeroBurner Driver – Performance

Offers Great Forgiveness

Unlike the other TaylorMade drivers, AeroBurner specially designs to offer forgiveness to novice golfers and low handicappers. The best part is, it is proper to what it claims – it is indeed very forgiving!

Even the mishits with this driver offer a consistent ball speed; however, the dispersion is a bit tight. Due to these qualities, it recommends for beginners and casual golfers who don’t play very often.

Overall, this feature makes the AeroBurner driver stand out from its counterparts. Moreover, it is one of its best and most valuable qualities.

Performance At Long Distances

When combined with a low CG (center of gravity), the reduced drag due to the aerodynamic design offers a high-trajectory and primarily straight and long drives. Although, as I already mentioned earlier, mishits maintain a consistent ball speed, longer sweet spots offer great campaigns.

Although the spin rate is relatively low, you’ll see a substantial gain on your distance over the previous driver, which is an excellent thing for any golfer.

About The Trajectory

The CG or simply center of gravity is at the driver’s heel, which is relatively low. Therefore, it results mainly in straight shots as the toe leads the heel.

If you enjoy hitting straight, then it is the best option for you. However, if you’re a player who prefers hook shots more then, you may not like it as the driver lacks adjustability.

TaylorMade AeroBurner Driver – Design And Sound

Talking about its overall design and aesthetics, it comes with a white crown which doesn’t look very attractive, to be honest. But the good thing is, you can opt for a black variant without paying anything extra.

Further, the 460cc AeroBurner driver’s footprint is slightly elongated and large. However, it has very sleek and smooth, and the TaylorMade AeroBurner logo adds to its aesthetics. The drag-reducing design is undoubtedly a win-win!

Finally, the raised crown helps position the driver in a better way and boosts its efficiency and performance. Also, its lightweight body is excellent for players who want proper control over their swing.

Sound is another factor of club drivers that affects the purchase decision of some customers. So, the sound you’ll get after hitting the ball with this driver is pretty loud and clear.

It produces a hot “clink” sound which is enjoyable as it gives the feel. However, even if you don’t like the sound, it doesn’t make much difference because of its higher performance.

Benefits of TaylorMade AeroBurner Driver

  • It offers great looks and aesthetics
  • Offers excellent forgiveness
  • Perfect for the novice golfers
  • Great for hitting long and straight shots
  • Very nice sound and feel
  • A lightweight body offers proper control over the swing

Final Words

After looking at the overall features and performance of the TaylorMade AeroBurner driver, it is one of the most suitable drivers for medium to high handicappers. For those who struggle with the slice often, even after having decent control over their swing.

It is also great for golfers who enjoy hitting straight and long. However, I don’t recommend it for someone who likes to try hook shots more.

Although its white crown and sound aren’t very appealing to some users, its performance conceals all these minor issues and makes it a great product.
